Need to create a Farmer ID in Maharashtra, find an existing number or check a missing OTP? The right next step depends on whether your registration is new, approved or still pending. This guide explains where to check and which reference to keep.

Checked: 25 October 2026. This guide explains registration, finding an existing ID and resolving a missing OTP. A Farmer ID does not itself mean a subsidy application has been approved.
Where should you start?
- No Farmer ID: follow MahaDBT’s registration guidance and visit a Common Service Centre (CSC).
- ID already created but forgotten: use “Know Your Farmer ID” on MahaDBT.
- OTP does not arrive: check Farmer Registry approval status before repeatedly requesting another code.
- Waiting for a scheme benefit: track that scheme application separately.
How to register for a Farmer ID in Maharashtra
The official MahaDBT notice directs farmers without an ID to their nearest CSC, carrying their Aadhaar card and the mobile number linked with Aadhaar. Follow the centre’s instructions for verification and land linking.
If you hold land in more than one village, the portal says land information from all those villages must be linked. Use the Farmer ID created for the first village when adding other land; the guidance does not call for a separate identity for every village.
Keep your enrolment acknowledgement. Before leaving the centre, note the reference number and ask where to follow up if approval is pending. Enrolment is the start of the process; it does not by itself confirm approval.
How to find your existing Farmer ID
Open MahaDBT and choose “Click here to know your Farmer ID.” The official user manual describes Aadhaar-based OTP verification to retrieve the linked ID. Enter these details only on the official portal.
For individual-farmer login, select that option, enter the Farmer ID and verify the OTP sent to the mobile registered with that ID. Recovery uses the Aadhaar-linked mobile; login uses the Farmer-ID-linked mobile. This difference is worth checking when a message appears to be missing.
Farmer ID OTP not received: check approval first
MahaDBT’s official OTP troubleshooting guide identifies pending approval as a possible cause. Open the Maharashtra Farmer Registry status page and use an available enrolment ID, Farmer ID or Aadhaar option.
If approval is pending, the guide directs farmers to their agriculture assistant officer or Talathi. If the problem continues, raise a grievance through MahaDBT. The listed helpline is 022-61316429, Monday to Friday, 9:45 am–6:15 pm.
Farmer ID status and subsidy status are different
First identify what you are tracking. Farmer Registry approval concerns your identity record. A MahaDBT scheme application has its own processing status. Write down the status message and the matching reference number before contacting support.
Save acknowledgements and receipts in separate folders for identity registration and each scheme application. Our document and form review checklist provides general record-keeping tips; use MahaDBT’s own requirements for agricultural schemes. Never post Aadhaar numbers or OTPs in public comments.
A simple way to explain the problem at your CSC
Take the acknowledgement and write down the exact message you see. Ask whether you need to complete enrolment, wait for approval or correct an existing record. These are different requests; asking only for a “new ID” can make it harder to explain what has already been done.
For example, a farmer with an enrolment receipt but no working login should first identify the approval stage. A farmer who has already logged in but cannot see a scheme payment needs to identify the relevant scheme application instead. Keep the two references together, with a short note saying which one belongs to which process.
What this guide does not confirm
This is a guide to the current official routes, not an announcement that a new grant has been released. It does not confirm your personal registration, land records or eligibility for a particular benefit. Those decisions must come from the relevant government record.
If your question concerns crop insurance rather than Farmer Registry approval, use our PMFBY application status and claim follow-up guide. Keep the crop-insurance receipt separate from your Farmer ID acknowledgement; the two records serve different purposes.
